For the week ending 1/14/06:

The Story "BACK IN JAIL – Dr. Elizabeth Rohr was jailed again this week after she refused to remove legal challenges to the sale of her Southlake ranch. Rohr has been in jail for nearly two months because of her refusal to comply with orders from a U.S. bankruptcy judge. She contends she is an American Indian and that the court doesn’t have jurisdiction over her."

The Spin Saying that she likes her odds, she will next seek a change of venue to Winstar Casino.

The Story In an odd development, Wise County employee Brenda Bosecker donated $6,000 to the county to reduce election costs and expenses.

The Spin County commissioners immediately began an ad campaign of  "Tithe 10% to County Government - The Lord Mentioned Something About Giving Unto Caesar" .

The Spin To assist the local volunteer fire departments, the county provides each with $5.000. This was followed up by "the New Fairview City Council that approved an $8,500 donation to the East Wise Volunteer Fire Department."

The Spin The United Way of Wise County far exceeded its goal of $275,000 with total pledges of $311,628.

The Story No rain and windy conditions lead officials to issue a "red flag" warning. Additionally, the president declared Wise County a "disaster area" leading the way to federal funds.

The Spin White house officials later admitted they were confused by the "red flag thing".   "We saw the color red and just got our wires crossed. But we would like to add that Walkerie is doing a heckuva job down there," said a White House release.
