This Week's Overall Newsiness:  The Good Stuff Was Buried In The Paper

The Story In February, a man gets stuck while riding a four-wheeler on a not-so-frozen lake. (Covered in The Blog as it happened). In March, a dog is given a medal for helping him.

The Spin Outside of Wise County, things happen a little differently in these situations.

The Story The Messenger calls out Bridgeport ISD for failing to be less than forth-coming about the resignation of volleyball coach Ray Kramer last year - a resignation that had been attributed to "personal reasons." Documents obtained by the paper reveal that Kramer had been informed by school officials that he was being investigated for violations of the computer policy. "He had visited some porn sites, and the district confronted him about it," the paper wrote. He resigned one day after he was informed about the investigation.
News worthiness ***
The Spin I just felt sorry for the guy for possibly losing his job over allegedly looking at porn. Legal porn, at that.

The Story A new and young voter writes the Messenger to express his displeasure of not being allowed a "voice" at a recent local Democratic meeting because he had not been a Democrat "long enough."
News worthiness *
The Spin County your blessings, kid.  On your death bed, you'll want those hours back that you would have spent at those meetings.

The Story
An Alvord couple will be involved in the ABC television show, "Wife Swap". The episode, which is filming now, will be broadcast in the fall. The Alvord wife and mother will switch places with the mother of a high-tone North Las Vegas family.
News worthiness ****
The Spin For the love of all things good, please have the Las Vegas mom visit the Swap Meet or Wal-Mart.

The Story The Planning and Zoning committee of Decatur approves annexation near the Brookhollow addition that would allow for 224 more single family homes in the city. One Brookhollow resident spoke before the P&Z and complained that too many houses could lead to "rent houses" and "you know what happens to rent houses."
News worthiness **
The Spin Yeah, people that can't afford to buy a home live in rent houses. Ewwwwwww. (Insert sarcasm for those readers new to The Spin.)
