News worthiness (on a scale of 0 to 5) ***
The Spin That means 90% of the county's population does not call Decatur home (up from 88% ten years ago).

The Story The census also revealed that the population of Rhome, the flagship of the "fast growing southern part of the county", actually fell from 605 people to 551.
News worthiness ***
The Spin Rhome officials have placed a call into Scully and Mulder in order to get to the bottom of this.

The Story Bridgeport city officials think their population may have been undercounted because of the "possibility the government did not count one of its prisons".
News worthiness  **
The Spin The Chamber of Commerce rejected the proposed new slogan of: "A community so close that many of our 4,309 residents eat, sleep and play together and even share a common wardrobe".

The Story A letter to the editor blasts the justice system for allowing the mother of a deceased child to receive eight years probation. "Eight stinking years, when she deserved life . . . . Why was it OK for her mother to hurt her, beat her, and cause her death?"
News worthiness *
The Spin That's all well and good but the mother was never indicted or accused of injuring the child. The only charge against her was failing to seek medical attention in a timely manner.

The Story The County Commissioners ordered constable Leonard Denney not to allow his wife to drive his official vehicle and make traffic stops while he rides as a passenger.
News worthiness ****
The Spin Constable's probable Spin: "You can take your kid to work, why can't I take my wife to work?" Commissioners' probable Spin: "We can't get the image out of our heads of Junior driving Sheriff Buford T. Justice around."
