The Story State Comptroller Carole Keeton Rylander spoke for 30 minutes at the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce banquet. "Rylander said a number of times that she stood for 'paychecks and jobs for Texans and less taxation and less government'".

The Spin As opposed to the popular Texas stance of "reduced paychecks, greater unemployment, higher taxes and more government."

The Story A nursing home and an assisted living center in Bridgeport were taken over by the state when the owner failed to make payroll.

The Story A Skydive Texas plane, carrying twenty-two people, crashed on take off. No mechanical problems were initially detected with the aircraft.

The Spin Pilot Tom Bishop said that he didn't realize the cause of the accident until "hours after the incident". "It finally dawned on me later that day that we hit a dust devil".

The Story Holly Mulford of Decatur blasts the Messenger in a letter to the editor for failing to point out that Rep. Charles Stenholm voted against the Bush tax bill last week. "When you look at your paycheck, do you notice that the federal government is taking almost 50 percent out of it?", she wrote.
