This Week's Overall Newsiness:  Tragedy Amongst The Trees

The Story Three teenagers die in a one car traffic accident at 4:00 in the morning on 2123. The ages of the dead are 17, 14, and 16. The injured are two 15 year olds.
)News worthiness (1 to 5)
The Spin When I was a kid, Channel 8 would always run a clip before the news that said, "It's 10:00 p.m. Do you know where your children are?"

The Story TxDot decides not to erect a traffic signal at the intersection of 287 and 1810.
News worthiness **
The Spin What? They decided against causing traffic on a major United States highway to come to a screeching halt? The dumbest idea in the history of ever has been rejected by a government agency that normally doesn't acknowledge dumb ideas.

The Story  Bridgeport's first ever liqour store opens.
News worthiness **
The Spin And the legend of and the towns of Jeterville and Briar officially comes to end. We raise a glass to the death of seediness.

The Story The Messenger reports that Mary Odell of Bridgeport had died in a traffic accident. She hadn't. Rumors of her death were apparently greatly exaggerated. And in the equivalent of a public flogging, reporter Brandon Evans is forced to write an apology in Wednesday's paper.
News worthiness ***
The Spin It's a major screwup, but I kind of feel sorry for the kid. But, oddly, the Messenger still has the story online announcing the lady's death.

The Story Robert Morgan of the Messenger is losing a ton of weight and is a pretty good writer.
News worthiness ***
The Spin I rarely say "read this" but.....uh this. Scroll down to the "Who is the head volleyball coach at Decatur?" That, sir, is good stuff.

See something in the local papers that struck you funny?  Then suggest a topic for The Spin.
