The Story A Wise County jury sentences Damon Chapman, 43, to forty years in prison for manufacturing methamphetamine.

The Story Decatur ISD Superintendent Gary Gindt had a Q and A with the Messenger answering questions about "areas of improvement" and the TAKS rating.

The Spin We do not know how he would answer the following: (1) What do you think of H.D. Boswell? and (2) If you could magically transform Decatur ISD into the #1 academically ranked school district in the state would you do so if, as a condition of having that wish granted, the the football team had to go 0-10.

The Story From Thursday's Update: "CELEBRATE — The Women and Infant Children (WIC) office in Decatur is celebrating World Breastfeeding Month today from 10 a.m. to noon. All pregnant and breastfeeding moms are invited to the celebration which will feature refreshments and drawings for gift baskets and gift certificates. The WIC office is located at Outreach Health Services, 2306 S. Farm Road 51. For more information, call (940) 627-5796."

The Story County Commissioners learned that the new EMS building has been halted due to a financial institution had reportedly confiscated the equipment of a paving company working on the site.

The Story The Commissioners and Pat Younger call somewhat of a truce when Ms. Younger agrees to pay for future advertisements that had been called by some of the commissioners as "political".

The Spin In looking at the ad, it appears that the photo and one caption are what caused the controversy. The Spin suggests revamping the ad in this manner to avoid future problems.
