This Week's Overall News Theme:  Money, Water, and Clean Air

The Story Wise County voters will vote on the creation of a "groundwater control district" in November.
)News worthiness (1 to 5)
**
The Spin I predict it will pass, 5 votes to 1. But only if the turnout is that high.

The Story Charlotte Fitzgerald of Alvord attempts to defend Betty Monroe in a Letter to the Editor. Monroe stands accused of DWI in the wreck that severely injured Jackie Murphree. "This accident is tragic, but I am dumbfounded at the chain of events. Americans are so quick to judge," she wrote. "It does not change the fact that someone was driving while intoxicated, but this could have happened to anyone, not just a drunk driver."
News worthiness ***
The Spin  Uh, next time you defend her, you might not want to be so "quick to judge" that she was intoxicated.

The Story The basement of the Wise County Courthouse, which is occupied by investigators with the County and District Attorney Offices, is evacuated after high levels of black mold were found.
News worthiness ***
The Spin Lice? Crickets? Mold? What's next? The AID?

The Story While much of the metroplex media is (are?) running human interest stories regarding the one car wreck on 2123 that took three teenage lives, the mother of one of the victim's files a lawsuit. Defendants include the father of the teenage driver and, get this, a Quick Mart.
News worthiness ****
The Spin Nevermind that toxicology reports aren't back yet. Money will make everything OK.

The Story Decatur's Brad Ough, 47, competes in the "Hotter Than Hell 100" bicycle race in Wichita Falls with only a couple of months of training.
News worthiness *
The Spin "My legs felt fine, but I haven't been able to sit down in a week," Ough might have said. "Have you ever seen those little bicycle seats on those bikes? Sheesh. My rear end is on fire. Next year I'm installing an old time banana seat."
