The Spin Most of us spend time there waiting forever at the stop light. We might not feel so inconvenienced next time.

The Story Greta McDaniel of Chico attended a Decatur High School game and had this observation in a Letter to the Editor: "The one thing I can’t understand is why there are so many players that never get to play one single play in the game. I watched as several never saw any action on the playing field. I realize there are reasons for a player sitting out, but I wonder why so many do."
News worthiness *
The Spin  Don't be silly. Having a kid never play a down during his formative high school years comes secondary to a win over Knox City.

The Story Ricky Don Martinez, 26, is arrested for the death of a two year old.
News worthiness ****
The Spin Not mentioned in any of the media reports is that the allegation is a capital offense (carries the death penalty). That's probably the first capital murder allegation since a Decatur officer was killed in the 1970s.

The Story A Sheriff's deputy crashes into another vehicle driven by a 17 year old.
News worthiness ***
The Spin "What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law." (Source.)

The Story Skip Nichols "Wise And Otherwise" column had this gem buried within it about dove season: "From the busy work of state game wardens, it's also easy to tell some folks aren't obeying the law - among them at least one judicial officeholder. The chatter about it is all over the county. The barber shop and morning coffee crowd were crowing about it on Monday after the Saturday incident. A Wise County official and some of his shotgun-toting buddies were nailed by a state game warden for hunting over a 'baited field.'"
News worthiness ****
The Spin Judicial office holder? That narrows it down to about 12 people (if you include municipal judges). Don't tease us like that.
