The Story The First National Bank of Decatur . . . er . . . The First National Bank of Texas . . . uhhh, no  . . . The First State Bank of Denton, Decatur Branch . . yeah, that's it . . .  is sold to Wells Fargo - "a $290 billion diversified financial services company".

The Story The Decatur Planning and Zoning Committee makes way for a Deluxe Inn Express Motel at FM 1810 and Highway 287.

The Spin Just when you thought that intersection couldn't become any more dangerous. (Ironically, the story appeared on a page in the Messenger opposite the Obituary of a man who was killed at that intersection last week).

The Story New Fairview, refusing to learn from past mistakes, considers hiring a police officer. The mayor pointed out that "a city can take in up to 30 percent of its revenue from traffic citations."
