The Story The First United Methodist Church in Decatur holds a "Blessing of the Animals" ceremony on Sunday.
News worthiness (on a scale of 0 to 5) ****
The Spin Are we wrong, or were there an inordinate number of race horses in attendance?

The Story The community of Allison, wherever it may be in Wise County, petitions to hold an election to become an incorporated city.
News worthiness **
The Spin The City of New Fairview, after catching wind of the request, immediately issued a proclamation which began "Whereas, the County of Wise ain't big enough for a new city which will steal all of our press . . . . "

The Story Barbee Howell writes a letter to the editor complaining of her son-in-law's and daughter's treatment while patronizing local businesses in the company of their seven foster children.
News worthiness *
The Spin Howell quoted one friendly face as saying: "Why don't you take her home and get her pregnant again? She needs more children".

The Story The Bridgeport Index reports that an "anonymous county employee" accused County Attorney Todd Durden of "throwing [new] cases in a brown box and doing nothing with them".
News worthiness ***
The Spin Durden wrote a letter to the Sheriff claiming it was a WCSO employee that made the report, but noted that "[c]ases filed from here on in will be prosecuted by the [newly elected] Count Attorney." (Just curious, but we hope the Index didn't mean to imply that the "anonymous" source was also "anonymous" to its reporter).

The Story H.D. Boswell's defends his Democrat affiliation in a letter to the editor by arguing that "We get our idea of social agenda from Christ's love and compassion." He adds: "My God man, [George W.] Bush was drunk for 22 of his short 54 years".
News worthiness **
The Spin Hmmmm. We could have sworn that the Bible verse of  "Thou shall not get liquored up" was right next to "Thou shall not take the Lord's name in vain", but we'll have to get back to you.

The Story Ten digit dialing becomes mandatory in Rhome.
News worthiness ***
The Spin The Spin, who claims to be technologically astute, now fears the complexity of what the telephone has become.
