For the week ending 10/9/04:

The Story A 400 hundred acre industrial park is announced for Decatur which is expected to eventually add at least $200 million to the tax base and create 1,500 jobs.  “This is the biggest thing the town and county has seen,” said Decatur Mayor Joe Lambert.

The Spin Sir, do you not remember that Faith Hill filmed a video a few years back on the courthouse square?

The Story A substitute teacher at Chisholm Trail Middle School is being investigated for pulling a hat off a kid after seeing that it was "pulled down over [his] eyes." He later went to the doctor and complained of neck pain.

The Story Somehow, a lady named Annette Bridges gets to write an editorial for the Messenger on the importance of voting. She claims that "one vote" (1) prevented German from becoming the primary language of the U.S. (2) made Texas part of the United States, (3) gave Hitler the leadership of the Nazi Party, and a few other examples.

The Story The big political forum goes down in Boyd and gives rise to the very funny headline of "Bore 'em forum" in the Messenger.
