The Story The Decatur City Council gets a bit tense about plans for a few gas wells to be built in Rodden Estates.

The Spin Elementary schools, day care, residential developments and gas wells - only in Texas.

The Story The walls on the new Starbucks in Decatur are raised.

The Spin The construction would go more quickly but those guys take a bunch of coffee breaks.

The Story Decatur, according to projections, will move up to Class 4A football within the next few years.

The Story The Messenger runs a heart touching article about Duane Peace, a 14 year old boy who has undergone surgery. The article is accompanied by a photo of a "long scar runs halfway down his chest."

The Spin And in contrast: Brittany Spears, who has a net worth of $100 million, started crying this week on Prime Time Live when Diane Sawyer asked her about her "tough year".

The Story In the normally boring "Capital Highlights" column ran in the Messenger, writer Mike Cox gives this bit of advice regarding deer that sometimes wander onto roadways: "If you see a deer in the roadway, hit the brakes and hold the wheel steady. Above all do not swerve dramatically to miss it."
