For the week ending 11/20/04:

The Story The Time Out convenience store in Paradise burns to the ground.
News worthiness (on a scale of 0 to 5) ***
The Spin You now want a soft drink or gas? That'll be at least 8 miles down the highway.  (And to think this county is growing so fast).

The Story The City of Decatur continues to freak out about the proposed TXU power line. "The preferred route would travel from Jack County and into Wise County north of Lake Bridgeport, continue northeast of Chico and then head south toward Bridgeport before turning eastward before it reach the city's northern edge. The line would then travel southeast a few miles before heading east, taking it south of Decatur . . . . "

The Spin This is our best attempt to follow the route. So you want to go from Jack County to Denton County and that's the best route? Yet another reason alcohol should be banned.

The Story Boyd PD asks the county to purchase two handguns for $604 a piece. The two officers "said they would reimburse the city for the guns."
News worthiness  *
The Spin So the city doesn't normally pay to arm the police force?

The Story A crazy brawl breaks out at the WiseGuys Paintball Park in Boyd. After an initial confrontation with a group of patrons,  a female mouths off that the "owner is the problem" prompting the owner to reply, "Then you can leave too, chick."
News worthiness **
The Spin Well there's certainly no chance of the tension escalating at that point.

The Story Going back to the paintball incident (it's just too good to pass up), one of the alleged aggressors allegedly told the owner's wife that he was "trained to kill" and that he had killed " a lot of people".
News worthiness *
The Spin Anyone think he has played paintball maybe a little tooooooooo long?
