This Week's Overall Newsiness: Barely Enough To Be Thankful For

The Story A Runaway Bay fire marshal admits to shooting a dog which leads to a Sheriff's Office investigation.
News worthiness (1 to 5)
The Spin His application for the position of Animal Control Officer was placed in the "reconsider" pile.

The Story The Black Diamond Dancers of Alvord High School performed at Texas Stadium on Thanksgiving along side of Carrie Underwood.
News worthiness *
The Spin We would have seen them on TV but the cameras were to busy showing us this.

The Story Front page of Thursday's Messenger: "Retail study seeks to plug 'leaks'" (meaning, can we find a way to keep Wise County shopping dollars from heading out out of town?)
News worthiness *
The Spin Page 4A of Sunday's Messenger: Reporter Christina Lane pens an editorial about her shopping adventures on "Black Friday" which included early morning stops at Kohls, Best Buy, Target, Hastings, and Beth Bad and Beyond.

The Story A study published by a group (that has too long of a name) finds that births to Wise County "teenagers" in 2004 numbered 89.
News worthiness **
The Spin The study might help us out if it broke it down between births to 13 - 17 year olds and 18 -19 year olds. There would appear to be a difference.

The Story Two Runaway Bay convenience store owners seek a petition to allow "the sale of alcoholic beverages including mixed drinks."
News worthiness **
The Spin Mixed drinks? As in "I'll have a rum and coke with my burrito and tatter tots"?
