The Story The Bridgeport Bulls lose to  Monahans in overtime, 43-21.
News worthiness (on a scale of 0 to 5) *
The Spin In one of the most bizarre extra point performances of all time, check this out: Bridgeport scored seven touchdowns but failed to kicked a single extra point or convert a two point conversion. For the record, in order, it was : kick failed, 2 point pass failed, 2 point pass failed, kick failed, 2 point pass failed, 2 point run failed, and two point run failed.

The Story The Texas Supreme Court ruled that the current system for school funding is unconstitutional.

The Spin Chief Justice H.D. Boswell authoried the decision.

The Story Because a techonolgy calss was 85 minutes instead of 90 minutes, Decatur High School is in jeopardy of losing a $175,000 in school funding.

The Spin Common Sense thereafter declared the beauracracy of state schools as unconstituional.

The Spin "Devon Energy Corporation has reported net earnings for the quarter ended September 30 of $744 million, a record for the company. This is 44 percent above Devon’s third quarter net earnings last year of $517 million.  'We had record earnings in the third quarter despite the disruptions caused by the Gulf hurricanes,' said J. Larry Nichols, Devon’s chairman and chief executive officer. "

The Spin Wise County will convert to electronic voting machines for the primary elections next year.

The Spin "These are good machines based upon Commadore 64 technology," said one ficticious county official. "And we have a very good back up system: In the event of an electronic malfunctin that does not record a person's vote, we will assume that they voted for the Republican. That way, we stand a really good chance of being right."
