The Story Rhome Police Officer Shane Hale is arrested for the alleged aggravated sexual assault of his six year old daughter.

The Spin If the charges are true, it's horrible. If the charges are false, getting your mug shot posted on the front page of the paper is horrible.

The Story The Chevron convenience store in Decatur was robbed by two men.

The Spin Did you see this: Clerk Julie Carter called 911 on her mobile phone only to be told that she would have to hang up and call the Decatur Police Department directly.

The Story Kevin Martinez of Bridgeport is critically injured after falling out of the back of the pickup.  A once in a lifetime event, right?

The Spin "About a year ago, he fell from the back of a pickup in Oklahoma on his way to go fishing with friends. In the midst of the accident, a gun accidentally went off and shot him in the left eye." - Messenger, Thursday edition, p. 2A. 

The Story Decatur ISD president Rex Keese writes an editorial urging county residents to lobby the legislature in Austin to change the current system of school funding. He also tells us to "mark this day on your calendar" because he "openly agrees with a large percentage of what Mr. H.D. Boswell has written in his letters to the editor."

The Story A mobile methamphetamine lab was discovered in the back of a pickup occupied by three people.  One of the female arrestees "did not go quietly" after her arrest "kicking and breaking the window frame of the patrol car."
