This Week's Overall News Theme: Phone Home

The Story Shortly after noon on Wednesday:
)News worthiness (1 to 5)
***
The Spin A typical case of too many mimosas at a fancy Wise County brunch.

The Story
News worthiness *
The Spin Rumors of the county being taken over by "city folk" from the Metroplex has been greatly exaggerated.

The Story
News worthiness **
The Spin Rosalie Gregg told the Star Telegram, "It’s a waste of their time. It was all a hoax. But some people just like the idea of UFOs." I think this is the wrong approach. We should embrace it and play this up for publicity.  Maybe even have someone claim to be the great grandchild of the alien. Perhaps someone named, say, Ralph Hardy? (And did anyone know this movie was made?)

The Story The Alvord School Board agrees to a separation agreement with outgoing superintendent John Trice.
Nor was there any reference to it in the weekend paper.
News worthiness ***
The Spin Random thought: Why is there any separation agreement at all? In college football, if a coach quits during the contract, he just walks away. If he gets fired during the contract, he is owed the balance on the contract.  Maybe there's something different here.

The Story After vandalism runs rampant, the Sheriff's Posse decides to close the arena to the public and instead charge $400 a day.

News worthiness ***
The Spin They shut it down due to vandalism by unknown individuals? You'd think they could round up some cowboys  and form a group whose sole purpose is to catch an individual who has committed acts of wrongdoing. What would such a group be called?  Oh, wait.
