This Week's Overall Newsiness Rating: Dog Days

The Story TxDOT announces that it will revamp the intersection of 287 and I-35 so, at the least, that eastbound 380 traffic will not have to be forced across 380 when getting on to southbound 287 .
News worthiness **
The Spin The old adage of "If you are going to do something, do it right" should have been adhered to during the initial construction. A Boyd sixth grader could have told you the initial design was horrible.

The Story Some lady named Ginger makes  me want to have Botox. (Uh, slow news week.)
News worthiness **
The Spin Hey, now

The Story The heat. dust and beer of the Wise County Reunion took place this week. The Messenger did a feature on the Decatur Police Department and its fair minded control of the annual event. "For example, police would rather find a ride for someone who's been drinking too much rather than arrest him or her."
News worthiness ***
The Spin No spin here. Other agencies, who have adopted a "we love to find any reason to arrest people"  policy, could learn from the Decatur PD.

The Story The Messenger uncovers the reasons why a Title IX gender discrimination complaint had been filed against Bridgeport ISD. One of the complaints was "[c]heerleaders do not cheer for all competitions." Meaning that cheerleaders might not show up for girl's volleyball or girl's softball.  The identity of the complainer could not be determined.
News worthiness **
The Spin Allow me to speculate for a moment: Some where there is a mother of a female Bridgeport ISD student who is very difficult to get along with.

The Story The Messenger  has a feature on a couple that decided to walk away from their day jobs and join the carnival - a carnival that is part of this week's Wise County Reunion.  "Michelle, Fred and [dog] Decatur," the story said, "stay in an RV where they have all the comforts of home."
News worthiness *
The Spin That is, if your home is normally as comfortable as an RV.

The Story A reasonable deal is reach between County Attorney Greg Lowery and dog-loving-hoarder-lady Sherri Jo Berand.
News worthiness ***
The Spin Sources indicated that the protest of this man was a key in facilitating the resolution.
