The Spin Those holding a CPA found the story interesting. For the rest of us - in our best Borat voice - "not so much."

The Story A fire destroyed the home of Frank Arze last Sunday. "Arze said he and his family were without electricity and had lit several candles to help them see."
News worthiness **
The Spin The big debate this week was whether "without electricity" meant (1) it had been turned off due to financial issues or (2) it had temporarily gone out.  That question remains unanswered.

The Story An oddity at Halloween in Bridgeport has developed as people funnel to eight neighborhoods to do their trick-or-treating. One resident in the area counted 1,127 trick or treaters.

The Spin "It's our own little way of redistributing the wealth," said one city official. "Those Republican tax cuts have really helped out the people who live in some pretty nice houses in those neighborhoods. We think they should give back a little so we send 'em to those neighborhoods. However, we are investigating claims that some houses were giving out that generic candy in orange wrappers. That will end, I promise you."

The Story The city of New Fairview decides to go with a couple of deputies to monitor the city instead of forming its own police department. The former use of police officers had led to a variety of complaints.
