The Story Shane Hale, after winning an appeal overturning his 40 year sentence, is convicted of aggravated sexual assault and sentenced to life in prison.
News worthiness (on a scale of 0 to 5) ****
The Spin This could fall within the old saying "be careful what you ask for" but, for most of us, a forty year sentence or a life sentence would be pretty much be the same.  (As a sidenote, the Messenger's front cover picture of the victim's mother walking past the patrol car was pretty darned good).

The Story The Boyd Yellowjackets win a State Championship in 2A football.
News worthiness ****
The Spin Decatur  ISD issued a press release that read: "We congratulate the Boyd Yellowjackets on their achievement and ....wait.....(pause) .... we think that if .....maybe......we had a second chance at Abilene Wylie we ....would of.....uh..... this is just too painful to continue."

The Story The Rhome Police Chief receives the wrath of the city council when he promotes one of the town's officers to the position of sergeant without consulting them.

The Story A ham radio operator lobbies the Bridgeport City Council to deny a request of Broadband Horizons to bring it's broadband internet services to the city.

The Story The Paradise City Council approved allowing Jon Vanerlyke to operate a mobile ice cream cart in the city.
